In line with Government guidelines for safe working during the COVID pandemic, access to our office is strictly by a pre-arranged appointment only, and only where absolutely necessary. We are open for business with some staff working in the office and others from home, they can still be contacted in the usual way either by telephone or email.

In respect of your pre-arranged appointment, if you develop symptoms of COVID, or have in the last 14 days come into contact with someone with COVID or symptoms of, we ask that you contact the office by telephone/email to arrange a new appointment or discuss if there is an appropriate alternative to your meeting.

Emma Wallbank

Chartered Legal Executive, Private Client

Emma was admitted as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Legal Executives in 2009.  Prior to that Emma completed her training at a large commercial law firm in Leamington Spa and has since gained her experience at other law firms across the Midlands.  Emma has specialised in Private Client matters since 2002.

Emma is also a fully qualified member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP) which is a specialist qualification for practitioners qualified and experienced in advising on inheritance and succession planning.

Emma advises on the preparing of Lasting Powers of Attorney, registration of powers of attorney and making applications to the Court of Protection for Deputyship Orders, once a person has lost capacity to manage their own affairs.

Emma can advise on inheritance tax planning and prepares a range of tailored Wills, to suit the individual’s wishes, ensuring that assets pass to their chosen beneficiaries.

Emma deals with the administration of individuals estates.  She can act on behalf of private executors or on behalf of administrators on intestate estates, (when a person dies without having made a Will).  She is experienced at making complex Grant applications to the Probate Registry, as well as Grant applications for clinical negligence matters.  Emma deals with all aspects of estate administration from insolvent estates to multi-million pound estates, advising on inheritance tax, capital gains tax, gifts and exemptions.  Emma particularly enjoys handling challenging estates, locating missing executors and beneficiaries.  Emma also advises on post death variations such as Deeds of Appointment and Deeds of Variations where beneficiaries want to alter the provisions of a person’s Will.
